About the event
The MashUP and Obscene Pomegranate, in collaboration with UK New Artists, are very excited to announce a new event; SWISH!: A Celebration of Lincolnshire Queer Voices.
Join us as we kick off Pride Month to celebrate Lincoln’s and Lincolnshire’s LGBTQ+ community and its creative talent.
Taking Place at Southside in Lincoln, this event will amplify LGBTQ+ voices and feature performances and discussions, as well provide a chance to connect with people in our community.
Hosted by Obscene Pomegranate and The MashUP, with support from UK New Artists (UKNA), Swish! brings together queer platforms and talent. Here's what's on the agenda:
Too Queer for Lincolnshire Cozy Conversations (14:30pm): Led by Jamie Gosling, dive into discussions about LGBTQ+ experiences in the region. Share your stories and gain insight into the diverse experiences within our community.
MEGA Zine: Contribute your ideas and creativity to spotlight and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Lincoln and Lincolnshire. MEGA Zine will evolve into an online publication following Swish!
Live Performances by local artists including Caitlyn Forsegate, Lucas Reilly, Molly Snee. And for the grand finale, Ché De will take over the DJ booth to bring the best tunes for our dance party and close the event on a high note.

Learn more about some of the fantastic artists and organisations involved:
The MashUP
The MashUP (TMU) is a Lincoln-based creative platform led by artists, for artists. Their mission is to amplify and showcase creative voices across all disciplines and develop a more diverse and dynamic cultural landscape in Lincoln and Lincolnshire, with local talent at the heart of everything they do.
Obscene Pomegranate
Obscene Pomegranate is a gorgeously filthy Lincoln-based magazine and online platform that promotes the work of queer artists, writers and creatives, run by Cat Anderson and Emily Collyer.
Too Queer for Lincolnshire
Too Queer for Lincolnshire is a brand-new podcast, hosted by Jamie Gosling, launching in Summer 2024. The podcast will explore the different experiences of growing up and identifying as LGBTQ+ within the rurality of Lincolnshire. Whether they’re positive or negative, we will be talking about the things that have impacted the way we express ourselves and how Lincolnshire could better serve the LGBTQ+ community. As part of Swish! ‘Too Queer for Lincolnshire’ is hosting Cozy Conversations. This will be a chance for participants to share their queer stories and hear about other experiences in Lincolnshire. There will also be opportunities to meet and network with other queer people from across the county.
Tell’d Zine
Tell’d is an independently published, queer-led zine which curates local queer art, accounts and writing. Their aim is to aid in the communication of local queer people, especially those from isolated areas, something common in Lincolnshire – as well as to provide a source for local creatives to safely display their work. Tell’d Zine celebrates positive representation and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community in a place with few queer spaces and outlets.
