For almost fifteen years, the company behind Southside, Acoustic Nations, has operated in Lincoln for the benefit of its community: we support young and emerging musicians, we provide facilities for the Arts, we are a grassroots music venue, and we celebrate the heritage of our locality.

The heritage of Southside spans the centuries, providing a context to both the castle and cathedral of Lincoln through our location at the ancient city gate at the point where the Fosse Way, an ancient Roman road, entered the Lincoln. Come and see our videos, our 3D Virtual Reality impression of the medieval Priory that once stood on our present-day site, come and soak up the atmosphere of the South common, and explore the Victorian church that took its place.

Southside is more than just a venue; we promote and stage music, we encourage youth theatre groups, as well as drama for older people. We are inclusive and are welcoming space for other communities, celebrating the diversity of our neighbourhood through a tolerance of culture and gender while encouraging events across the spectrum. We are grateful to Arts Council England for supporting many of our projects and the continuing work as a Grassroots Music Venue that keeps music close to its heart.
